Aftercare guidance
- - Remain upright for around 4 hours after treatment.
- - Avoid rubbing, massaging or applying firm pressure to the treated areas.
- - Avoid strenuous exercise for approximately 24 hours.
- - Avoid saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat for around 24 hours.
- - Avoid alcohol for approximately 24 hours where possible.
- - Avoid facial treatments, massage or other procedures involving pressure on the treated area until advised otherwise.
- - Small injection-point marks, mild redness, tenderness or swelling can occur and usually settle quickly.
- - Results develop gradually and may take up to 14 days to fully assess.
- - Do not judge the final result during the first few days.
- - Attend your review appointment if one has been recommended.
- Contact NEXGEN Clinic promptly if you experience anything unexpected or are concerned about your recovery.

How much do anti-wrinkle injections cost in Cambridge?
At NexGen Clinic prices start from £150 for one area. Prices depend on the areas treated and the treatment plan recommended after consultation. You can view our current guide prices on the NEXGEN pricelist.
How long do results last?
Most clients enjoy results for around 6-8 months although this varies depending on the individual, treatment area, dose and muscle activity. Movement returns gradually and treatment can be repeated.
Why do I need a consultation first?
Anti-wrinkle injections involve a prescription-only medicine, which UK regulations (MHRA/ASA) do not allow to be sold directly. Additionally, suitability assessment before treatment is done.
Will I look frozen or unnatural?
Our approach is conservative and personalised. The aim is usually to soften lines while maintaining natural facial movement rather than creating an over-treated appearance.
Can it help with teeth grinding or jaw tension?
Treatment of the masseter (jaw) muscles can help some clients with bruxism and jaw tension, and can slim the lower face. Suitability is assessed by our prescriber at consultation.
When will I start to see results?
You may begin to notice a change within several days, with the full effect typically becoming clearer over the following 1–2 weeks.
Is there any downtime?
Most people return to normal activities shortly afterwards. Mild redness, swelling, tenderness or small injection-point marks can occur temporarily.

Treatments at NEXGEN are delivered by appropriately qualified, registered medical professionals following consultation and clinical assessment.
What happens if I have concerns after treatment?
You will receive aftercare guidance and can contact the clinic if you have any questions or concerns. Where appropriate, a review appointment can be arranged.
Do you offer free top up appointments?
Yes. Where clinically appropriate, review appointments are usually scheduled around 2–3 weeks after treatment.
